I love the start of a new year. I know nothing technically changes from New Year's Eve to New Year's Day other than the date on the calendar, but I always feel like a new year is a clean slate full of possibility.
This year, I love that I'm starting the crafting year with an almost clean slate. I almost always have multiple projects going on at once, but after finishing up Christmas gifts each year, I always feel like I need to get some order back in my crafting life by finishing up projects and reorganizing. Once I finished up my solids quilt on Monday, I felt like order, at least a semblance of it(!) had been achieved again.
And now I'm ready to start up a bunch of new projects! I already mentioned that I have a plus quilt that I started to lay out and that's still hanging out on my wall. I haven't made any progress with it, but I'm looking forward to turning it into a small quilt.
I got distracted from it though once I started organizing my scraps from my solids quilt. I realized how much fabric I have left and have not one, but TWO more quilts that I want to make with that fabric.
Please excuse the horrible lighting in this photo! You might be thinking that this looks an awful lot like the quilt I just finished. If so, you're right! It will be slightly different though. This one will be a baby quilt and will be a combination of squares and rectangles. All of the rectangles have a seam in the middle though which is making them read as squares! This should be a quick project and I hope to wrap it up this month.
I don't have much in the way of crafting goals this year, but I do want to complete the 2012 Craftsy Block of the Month course (it's free!). Yes, I do realize we just started 2013, but I never did the 2012 course and I won't have to wait for each month to be posted if I do the 2012 course unlike the 2013 one. Plus it has some specific blocks I've been wanting to try.
Do you have any crafting goals for 2013?
