More Solids

I know, I know, not ANOTHER solids quilt. I couldn't help myself though. After cleaning out my scrap baskets to find pieces for my pluses quilt (which hasn't progressed in the past week, by the way), I forgot that I had more scraps in mind for yet another solids quilt. I think this will definitely be the last one for a while though. And it's not entirely solid fabric.

Sorry for yet another grainy photo but my beloved camera lens is thisclose to returning to me. Expected delivery is Thursday!

This top came together super fast because I used the leftover strips from my lightweight solids quilt and some jelly roll strips that were left from my oodalolly quilt so there was no cutting other than trimming along one edge. It's about 65" long (and I might add another strip to make it closer to 70") but too narrow so now I need to decide how to add some width.

I'm thinking about using this old Amy Butler stripe that I've had in my stash forever. The colors go together really well and I like that it's a print but adds some stripes of varying widths. What I'm not sure about is that I'll have to piece it to match the length because I don't have enough yardage. I might be able to match up the stripes, but if not, do you think it will look weird that the stripes don't match at the seam? I'll play around with it a little, but hopefully I can make it work.

I also finished up my baby solids and will be showing that off soon!

Hi, new follower. (We both like Shawshank Redemption, that's how I ended up here.) I liked your comment about cornfields vs. Target.
